Ned Bear

When he was nine, Ned Bear knew he had to sculpt after observing an elder from his community (the Ekpahaq First Nation) carving wood. A visual artist for over 25 years, he has had numerous regional and international exhibitions, was Director of Education for a Wolastoqiyik First Nation community (1995-2004) and completed a Smithsonian fellowship.
